đ From BET to EBT: Kevin McCallâs Emotional Breakdown Over Lost Fame and Fortune
Once celebrated for his musical genius and songwriting credits on Chris Brownâs biggest hits, Kevin McCall is now making headlines for a very different reason. During a tearful new interview, the former hitmaker revealed heâs fallen on hard times â surviving on EBT and struggling to make ends meet.
âItâs not fair,â McCall said through tears. âI helped write songs that made millions â and I got nothing to show for it.â
While Chris Brownâs Breezy Tour raked in over $90 million, McCall says heâs been left behind, despite contributing to several of Brownâs early successes. But social media isnât feeling too sympathetic.
Fans quickly reminded the public of McCallâs controversial past â including his highly publicized breakup with model Eva Marcille, the mother of his daughter. Marcille previously accused McCall of physical and emotional abuse, which she said began while she was pregnant. McCall later relinquished his parental rights, cutting legal ties with his child.
And while the former producer claims financial ruin came from unpaid royalties and âindustry blackballing,â others point to another reason: child support.
After selling his music catalog for a reported $500,000, McCall admitted that back taxes and overdue child support payments wiped out most of his earnings.
Social media users responded with a mix of disbelief and dark humor:
âNo thoughts or prayers at this time â I donât know how to care for deadbeat abusive dads,â one post read.
Once a rising star on BET, Kevin McCallâs story has become a cautionary tale â proof that talent without accountability rarely leads to lasting success.
