Once celebrated for his musical genius and songwriting credits on Chris Brown’s biggest hits, Kevin McCall is now making headlines for a very different reason. During a tearful new interview, the former hitmaker revealed he’s fallen on hard times — surviving on EBT and struggling to make ends meet.

“It’s not fair,” McCall said through tears. “I helped write songs that made millions — and I got nothing to show for it.”

While Chris Brown’s Breezy Tour raked in over $90 million, McCall says he’s been left behind, despite contributing to several of Brown’s early successes. But social media isn’t feeling too sympathetic.

Fans quickly reminded the public of McCall’s controversial past — including his highly publicized breakup with model Eva Marcille, the mother of his daughter. After selling his music catalog for a reported $500,000, McCall admitted that back taxes and overdue child support payments wiped out most of his earnings.
