In a fiery statement, the rap legend declared that he’s officially done with the Recording Academy. “The Grammys is useless,” he said bluntly. “I warned them never to put my name or invite me. They use famous people to promote their award and then give it to people you can’t even imagine.”

Eminem explained that he doesn’t mind losing to artists he respects, like Kanye West or Kendrick Lamar. “If I lose an award to Kanye or Kendrick, I can understand,” he admitted. “But losing to people you know have no fans or not famous is funny. So who voted for them?”

The Detroit MC also pointed out one of the biggest mysteries in hip-hop: Nicki Minaj’s Grammy shutout. “Look at Nicki Minaj—she got no Grammys. Which female rapper is better than her? No one.”

Over the years, Eminem has collected 15 Grammy trophies, but he’s long been critical of how winners are chosen. Now, he’s making it clear: he won’t be stepping foot in the ceremony ever again.
